Experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment helps, but it's more important that youre detail oriented, good at multi-tasking and a perfectionist with decent mechanical abilities! If youre someone who loves variety and having to think on your feet, you will thrive here. You wont just be making bats, youll be making connections as you interact with customers, and making better hitters as you educate them on the characteristics of wood bats and how they perform.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and housekeeping.
- Operate CNC wood Lathe and sanding lathe
- Use wood working tools including miter saw, drill presses, disc sander, vinyl cutter, and laser engraving machine
- Finish bats including personalization, painting, engraving, labeling, and spray clear coating
- Maintain quality standards and assess each billet and bat each step to ensure quality outcome
- Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance, following manufacturers instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions
- Communicate with sales/office regarding customer and stock orders
- Meet with customer to determine what bat model they should use, and what to know when swinging a wood bat (with training)
- Update Shopify eCommerce software and communicate with customers
- Organize work and direct other workers helping with lathe operation and sanding during peak times
- Help in other departments at the Bagshaw Company, such as shipping or ice pick assembly.
Job requirements:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain an organized and clean work area
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail imperative
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as tape measures, and digital calipers
- Proficiency using a MS Windows OS computer
- Demonstrated initiative and improvement mindset a must
- Proven track record of reliability, accountability, dependability, maturity, attention to detail, and ability to learn is key as we will be providing comprehensive training on start to finish wood bat production
*A strong candidate may also possess the following:*
- Familiarity with quality concepts, such as in-process auditing; lean manufacturing
- Minimum of two years in manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with machining and woodworking
- Knowledge of woods and materials, including but not limited to ash, birch and maple, and their machineability

This is a union role, located in Nashua, NH.
Job Type: Part-time with flexible hours between 6 am and 4pm. Approximately 15-30 hours per week.
