Merchology seeks a VP of Technology & Information Systems for our Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Technology & Information Systems is a critical role that will be responsible for driving efficiency across business processes, turbocharging data and analytics, delivering high-performance solutions and support, and creating and implementing a roadmap for secure growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
A successful VP of Technology & Information Systems will:
? As a member of the ELT, develop a deep understanding of the current and future foundation technology, while effectively communicating and broadly supporting execution of company strategies and priorities.
? Participate in quarterly and annual planning of the company's objectives and strategies.
? Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with Merchology's business objectives and growth plans.
? Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of Merchology's IT infrastructure, ensuring robust security, reliability, and scalability.
? Oversee the optimization of all technology platforms, including on-premise, cloud, and third-party systems, ensuring they are fully optimized and aligned with business objectives.
? Develop and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate technology risks, including cybersecurity threats and data breaches.
? Drive the optimization of the company's technology stack across Microsoft, Linux, and cloud-based environment stacks.
? Leverage a deep level of knowledge about Merchology's business practices and processes to help direct and redirect technology requests that may impact the customer-facing digital ecosystem, both positively and negatively.
? Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
? Establish data quality standards, ensure data accuracy, and implement data security measures to drive data governance initiatives.
? Ensure all technology practices comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
? Work closely with other departments to support their technology needs and drive strategic initiatives.
? In partnership with the People Team, create a long-term technology plan to advance employee
development, onboarding, and training.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
? 15+ years of technology experience as a VP of Technology, Director of Technology/IT, or other senior role, with a preference of at least one experience successfully growing a business through technology and data analytics created and executed as a leader.
? Proven experience with management of full tech stackings, ranging from back end ERPs (e.g., Netsuite), to front-end eCommerce systems (e.g., Shopify).
? Proven experience with establishing and overseeing SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI, or similar security management certifications.
? Proven experience in data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI or similar.
? Experience building and managing a team of 5+ people.
? Experience building and managing offshore resources in conjunction with in-person/hybrid US-based team.
? Strong business acumen and the ability to connect data insights to business objectives.
? Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing environment; must be entrepreneurial at heart!
? Excellent communication and presentations skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
? Highly resourceful - finds ways to creatively stretch resources and capital.
? Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data & Analytics or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
