We are seeking a Systems Integration Engineer, as a part of our team you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our backend infrastructure, ensuring that our diverse applications and third-party systems work seamlessly together. This role involves everything from routine maintenance and troubleshooting to planning and executing larger-scale integration projects. Your expertise in backend development, API connections, and system integrations will be essential to supporting our current operations and facilitating future technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
API & Integration Management:
- Oversee and maintain current API connections and integrations with third-party systems.
- Evaluate new software tools and applications for compatibility with existing systems.
- Develop detailed action plans to implement and sustain integrations effectively.
- Development & Maintenance:
- Write, test, and maintain backend code, primarily using Python, Node.js, and TypeScript, while remaining open to adopting other languages if they offer efficiency gains.
- Address and resolve issues related to system integrations and inter-application communication.
- Support a mix of ongoing maintenance tasks alongside several upcoming large-scale projects.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work independently while collaborating closely with the Analytics and Development teams.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders to ensure clarity across departments.
- Take ownership of documentation efforts to establish and maintain up-to-date records of system integrations and architectural decisions.
Requirements
Experience
- Mid to senior-level experience in backend development and system integration.
- Proven track record of managing and troubleshooting RESTful APIs and integrating with legacy systems that may have more complex requirements.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of API design, integration patterns, and backend system architectures.
- Basic knowledge of DevOps practices and an understanding of how systems communicate with one another.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical details to diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude toward addressing system integration challenges.
- A collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on experience with AI technologies, including familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tensor core processing, along with a drive to contribute to our efforts in staying at the forefront of AI innovation.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus for future initiatives.
- Experience with database systems (both SQL and NoSQL) and data integration techniques is vital for writing custom programs to gather and process data from diverse sources.
- Preferred experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify and product content management systems like Salsify.
- Previous experience in the ecommerce or furniture retail sector.
