Overview

As the Software Engineer, you will develop and execute comprehensive e-commerce landing pages to maximize online sales, enhance brand visibility, and optimize customer engagement. This role will oversee all aspects of the e-commerce operation, including website management, digital marketing, merchandising, and customer experience initiatives. We seek someone with a creative and analytical mindset, strong software development skills, and a deep understanding of the direct-to-consumer industry and e-commerce trends. The role reports to the Director of E-commerce.

What You'll Do

The Software Engineer will oversee several key areas to achieve the objectives outlined. These include:

1. E-commerce Software Development:

- Partner with the Director of E-commerce to formulate and implement strategic e-commerce plans to stimulate growth and meet revenue targets across various brands.

- Present regular progress reports on effectiveness to management.

2. Website Performance Optimization:

- Lead the maintenance and enhancement of websites architecture to ensure a smooth and effective user experience.

- Utilize analytics to monitor website performance and make data-driven decisions for improvements.

- Set and review key performance indicators such as traffic, conversion rates, and engagement metrics.

3. User Experience:

- Collaborate with the Marketing and Brand teams to ensure the website's design is appealing and functional, focusing on mobile-first navigation, user interfaces, and responsiveness.

- Innovate the online shopping journey through ongoing enhancements, personalized content, and leveraging customer feedback.

- Assess and deploy new technologies and tools to boost website functionality and performance.

4. E-commerce Functionality Optimization:

- Enhance e-commerce features, including shopping cart, payment systems, and product search functionalities.

- Develop and manage SEO and SEM strategies to enhance online visibility and drive organic and paid traffic.

5. Vendor and Agency Management:

- Manage and nurture relationships with external vendors, agencies, and technology partners.

- Ensure all external partnerships align with ILMs strategic goals and deliver on agreed performance metrics.

6. Deliverables

- Assist the Director of e-commerce in deploying new e-commerce websites for ILMs brand websites.

- Monthly website performance analysis reports.

- Quarterly reviews of user experience enhancements.

- Regular updates on SEO and SEM performance metrics.

Qualifications

  1. Strong Computer Science / Engineering fundamentals
  1. 5+ years of server-side JavaScript-based engineering experience
  1. 3+ years developing in an Agile environment.
  1. 3+ years of developing using relational or NoSQL databases.
  1. 3+ years developing API-first services (REST and GraphQL)
  1. Must have 2+ years of experience developing web applications using Next.js and React with a strong understanding of their features and best practices.
  1. LAMP full-stack development is a big plus.
  1. Experience working with Builder.io Headless CMS
  1. Experience with branch-based development using modern version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  1. Experience development using best practices (unit/contract testing, secrets handling, etc.)
  1. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  1. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  1. A minimum of 3 years in website operations, e-commerce, digital marketing, or a related field.
  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
  1. Proven track record of leading successful website initiatives, driving growth, andimproving user experience.
  1. Deep understanding of web technologies, SEO/SEM, UX/UI best practices, and e-commerceplatforms.
  1. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  1. Solid technical background with a thorough understanding of the technologies involved in the projects.

Technology Proficiency

  1. Excellent expertise in WooCommerce, PHP, and Shopify.
  1. Proficiency in the marketing/commerce analytics domain & tools such as Google Analytics.
  1. Understanding of data engineering and analytics services on Azure.
