Position Summary

We are seeking a Retail Store Manager to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day business operations at the Peruvian Link retail store located in beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine. This role requires a dynamic yet personable leader, with exceptional skills in active selling, and an in depth understanding of retail store operations. The RSM reports directly to the General Manager. This is a seasonal position, May thru November, with housing available. 

Leadership Essential Functions

1. Perform recruiting and staffing activities, including interviewing, conducting background checks, onboarding, and proper POS and product training

1. Create weekly schedule and maintain all shifts are appropriately staffed

1. Inspire & engage Retail Sales staff so that their enthusiasm for Peruvian Links unique products is transferred via customer sales

1. Continuously coach and mentor sales staff on add on and upselling best practices

1. Provide superior customer service leadership

1. If needed, guide employees through progressive discipline actions, possibly including termination

Sales Essential Functions

1. Sell, Sell, Sell, while keeping the team culture upbeat and fun, and maintaining positive gross margins.

1. Formulate sales analysis and projected growth based upon current item sales, to be used for product ordering

1. Track daily foot traffic, conversation ratio’s, best sellers, and sales per hour to uncover additional opportunities to expand item sales and/or increase average ticket sales

1. Report daily KPI’s to General Manager, for future sales forecasting

Store Operations Essential Functions

1. Ensure the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability, key control and adherences of company security and cash control procedures

1. Monitor all aspects of inventory ordering, receiving and inventory control

1. Oversee proper start/end of day paperwork, POS/register processes

1. Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained to support store sales

1. Order inventory via Peruvian Link wholesale

1. Enter appropriate mark downs and damages into inventory back office

1. Establish and maintain a clean, well-stocked store

1. Create an elevated shopping experience through proper merchandising

1. Provide a safe environment for both employees and customers

Expected Skills, Traits & Competencies

1. Exhibit a positive, can-do attitude that is engaging and infectious

1. Maintain a neat, clean appearance while adhering to the Peruvian Link Dress Code and Code of Conduct

1. Proficient in necessary industry software platforms such as, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Shopify, Lightspeed, WooCommerce, etc.

1. Communicate excellently with the General Manager and staff both electronically and in person

1. Possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, ensuring objectives are met and delivered on or before their completion deadlines

1. Ability to oversee all cash handling including appropriate cash register drawer amounts and daily bank deposits

Commitment

1. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position, with possible occasional mandatory overtime

1. Position based out of our Bar Harbor, ME Peruvian Link retail sites

Compensation and Benefits

1. Compensation is currently an hourly rate and determined upon experience.

1. Employee discount of up to 70% off on all Peruvian Link products

1. An end of season bonus may be available, providing key metrics are met and the ASM remains in position all season
