Production Manager

We roast all of our own coffee, brew our own cold brew, and share our love for coffee through various selling channels including wholesale partners, our online store, grocery stores, office clients, and more.

We are seeking an operator to join our team as the Production Manager at our roastery. This individual will play a key management role in overseeing the pursuit of excellence in execution, quality, and order fulfillment standards for all areas of coffee production. The right candidate will be hyper-organized, have a keen eye for detail, and emphasize creating and executing great systems.

Primary Function

This position serves as a management role for our Production and Fulfillment teams. This individual will be accountable for all daily manufacturing operations, meeting demand and maintaining low defect rates across all manufacturing and shipping segments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Always display a customer first, positive attitude and approach to business.

1. Provide strong leadership to the Roastery Production team, fostering a safe and happy work environment and team culture.

1. Plan, create, and oversee the execution of daily, weekly, and monthly production plans, ensuring accuracy, speed, and efficiency in operations.

1. Assign, supervise, and manage the day-to-day operations of the production facility teams’ daily tasks as needed.

1. Oversee the needs of the fulfillment department to fulfill orders with the expectation of packing for shipment within 24 hours of receiving the order.

1. Develop and implement long-term strategies for roastery production and fulfillment, aligned with company goals and objectives.

1. Continuously optimize production processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and maximize output.

1. Maintain exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.

1. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Cold Brew Operations, Roasting Operations,  and Quality Control to ensure seamless coordination and achievement of production targets.

1. Collaborate with operations, sales, marketing, and distribution departments to ensure seamless production flow and timely resolution of any issues.

1. Oversee the site management of the coffee roasting production facility, ensuring adherence to operational standards, safety regulations, and quality control protocols.

1. Facilitating and scheduling maintenance and repairs of production equipment.

1. Manage all warehouse supplies, and equipment parts required for fulfillment and shipping, ensuring optimal inventory levels and timely procurement.

1. Monitor and control all inventory items to minimize waste, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.

1. Maintain operating SOPs and SSOPs for coffee roasting production facility.

Who You Are

1. Proven experience managing a team (food and beverage industry production or cafe manager experience preferred)

1. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a production team, driving high performance and accountability.

1. Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Shopify, and organizational software and systems.

1. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

1. Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
