Purpose
To perform accounting work in the performance of bookkeeping and clerical tasks and to participate in the work of a section which maintains numerous and diversified accounts and records.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for applying technical bookkeeping and accounting practices and controlsto a variety of financial transactions. Responsible for pre-auditing accountingdocuments which require debit and credit postings to be made to individual accountrecords.
- Exercises control over the preparation, processing and checking of accounting documents. Audits a variety of accounting documents, including invoices, vouchers and deposits. Checks for correctness and completion of identifying information.
- Oversees the maintenance of detailed reports and records of accounting data. Prepares reports from accounting records using Define, Quickbooks, Shopify and Monarch. Prepares Journal vouchers, cash receipt vouchers and other covering documents affecting transfer of funds.
- Assists section or supervisor in ensuring that special projects and tasks are completed.
- May need to train accounting clerks and other clerical personnel. Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Competency in MS Office and QuickBooks.
- Data entry and word processing skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Hands on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Knowledge of UTaccounting procedures and \\*\\*DEFINE.
Salary Range
$45, 760 + depending on qualifications
